I feel for MattyD.. wonder where he's going to wind up next year.. Wherever it is will likely be a step backwards, somewhere like Front Row or similar.

Like to see him in an Hendrick subsidized team. Won't be long before the 48 car will need a new driver.

NASCAR is considering a single lug nut to secure wheels like the Indy Cars for Gen 7 car in 2021. Viewed as a safety enhancement, the move would change the dynamics of the pit crew putting less emphasis on the importance of tire changers.

might see a 9 second four tire change pit stop if that happens. and that would change everything strategy wise.

Also saw that with the Gen 7, NASCAR & Goodyear wants to bring in a low profile 18" tire, much like you would see on a production car.

so the teams will have to go back and figure out new spring rates, shock rates, and antiroll bar rates.

I just don't see how they can do that with the loads on these cars.

I've seen the report you're referring to.. But i'm skeptical on it. That seems, to me, to be one of the things that they 'want' to do, that just isn't feasible.

Go further. Like Indy cars. Then add the air jack, no more jacking one side and then running around to the other side. Then later, just make them autonomous. No more b***hing drivers. I think their changes over the years have lost enough fans and viewership. They need something to spice it up, like adding a dirt track or two.
