I think Jimmy will have a good race and lock up one of the spots. As far as the other spot goes I'm rooting for Bowyer.

He has to have better than a good race. He needs a good race and Newman AND Suarez or Bowyer to have problems. He's 18 points behind Newman/Suarez and 26 behind Bowyer.

That's a tall order. Now, years ago, I'd say that they'd win the race and lock themselves in that way.. But times have changed. I don't think Johnson makes it.

Despite what NASCAR and the networks are trying to convince folks, Indy just isn't working. Friend in Indy said they were trying to give away tickets just to get people in the stands.

I usually don't jump on the whole, "the stands are empty", "the sport died with Sr.", bandwagon. But man, the stands at Indy was embarrassing. For a "crown jewel" this was ridiculous, especially compared to Daytona, Charolette, and Darlington. Switching Indy to the 4th of July is going to do nothing for the sport, expect for pissing of Daytona goers.

did not expect Menard to retire.. That's great.. That is the best thing that could have probably happened for DiBennedetto. At the very least, I think that's a lateral move. For now.. I expect Leavine to rise in the years to come, but..

I think he would have been better off in the long run with Leavine if they decided to keep him on the team. But I guess they got to make room for Bell which I don't blame them. Very happy to see DiBenedetto get a decent ride rather than take a step back.

I would say that Leavine got some incentives from JGR and Toyota to put Bell in the car. So, you can't really blame them. I'd be a little pressed to say that it was their decision.
