Wow! There's a blast from the past. I seem to recall that he had the reputation of being a great driver, highly respected by his peers, but I was a little kid and don't remember it all that well.

A superb driver and a true gentleman.
It was a terribly dangerous sport back then, looking through a 1966 USGP program, a race won by Jim Clark, at least 6, possibly more, of the 19 listed starters were later killed in racing/testing accidents.
That was when F1 was dangerous and had passing. If you remember that during his F1 days he said that the 24 hrs Lemans was too dangerous, Then afterwards he raced and died in that very event.

Who? As far as I recall Clark was killed at Hockenheim in a Formula II event.
