You are right about that burdell. A good friend of mine owns the property where NASCAR was initially looking at building a track here in Washington, Through his various meetings with Brian France, France basically told him, NASCAR is about advertising, quarter panels just happen to be the billboards, its all about creating value for sponsers.

I miss the racing, I started watching back when you'd have to watch 1:15 of Sumo wrestling and tiddlywink championships to see 0:15 of racing hi-lights. I was a small boy when Fireball Roberts dies and I learned how cruel the sport could be. Now I feel like I have to watch 1:15 of ads and hoopla to see 0:15 of racing

Maybe the old saying is true: The more things change, the more they stay the same

These days I would rather watch a good ARCA race than Nascar and I have been a Nascar fan for decades.
Arca has some really young and some really old drivers that seem to race more for the fun of it than be a rolling billboard.
Last season there was a really old guy in the series. Don't know how old he was but he said Ben-Hur was one heck of a driver.
Nascar is getting too p/c and big money is ruining the sport in my opinion.

The old guy might have been James Hylton, he'll be 74 in August.

Just started young!

Probably dragged my Dad out to a local bull-ring when I was 5-6.

I used to go to 5 races a year...I'm down to one and go because our friends really want us to go. We prefer to go to the local tracks instead.
I cannot stand Kyle Busch....he ain't all that.
And no I'm not a Jr or Gordon fan.
