You can buy those 2dr Taurus at the same place they sell the Monte Carlo, Dodge Charger, and Toyota with the 9" Ford rears.

Exactly!
I enjoyed NASCAR much more when the 'S' actiually had some meaning and the cars really were production based. As it is they're rapidly approaching the point where the only difference between them is what label's hung on them.

I agree and I think most of the die-hard fans from years ago have similar feelings! Progress....sigh......

The good thing is there are still a lot of short tracks and road courses throughout the country where amateur racing is alive and well. To me it's like the difference between MLB and Minor League Baseball, I enjoy the Minors where in many cases it's still more sport than business.

Good point and I agree! Those local short tracks have some fun, great racing. The kind of racing I remember from years past! And those road courses---the drivers that can drive those know how to drive!

I remember when a racecar was designed like the winged Superbirds and the Monte Carlo Aerocoupe to name a couple, 500 or so had to be made available for purchase by the manufacture for the general public. I have not seen a COT anywhere in a showroom...
