But I have to admit the NC drives have the "drafting" down to a science. I really think the drivers ed here teaches the drivers how to do this and it just might be required to pass the drivers test here!!
OMG, I totally agree! I am a So Cal gal and in NC for just over 2 years now. I felt safer on the freeways in CA. They tailgate HORRIBLY in NC, good Lord.

DH used to race go-karts and when he and the guys raced at CA speedway the first time, he came home with the biggest smile and said the neatest thing was feeling the draft and swinging around the guy in front of him, he loved it.

The real reason for this is NC drivers are too lazy to change lanes to pass so they tailgate hoping you'll eventually move out of their way.

1979 Daytona 500. Yarborough versus the Allison's. Donnie was in the #1 car that wrecked and Bobby came by in his car to help his kin.

After the wreck, Richard Petty held off Darrell Waltrip to take the win!

Today was the first time that I almost made it through watching an entire race this season. None of the first few races of the year were anything worthwhile, so I really didn't miss much by not watching. Since today was Bristol, I thought I'd watch. It wasn't a bad race, but still boring when compared to other Bristol races.

Next week, we venture up to M'ville. The only reason I hang on to these tickets is so we can go tailgate with our friends before and after the race. It's the only time I get to see these guys each year and M'ville isn't a totally boring race yet. I'll still cling to hope that maybe they'll return to the car of yesterday and we can have some good racing again.

Not if you watched today's race--one couldn't possibly get bored or be bored.
