As opposed to the huge tv ratings they have now. They have tinkered with NASCAR until the broke it. It's ruined. Now they are doing the right thing by going back to regular start times. If they got rid of the POS car of tomorrow, got rid of the Chase joke format, made tickets resonable, stopped changing rules on the fly, and most importantly:
GET RID OF BRIAN FRANCE!!!
Until they make those changes, they will continue to die. NASCAR is not circling the drain...they are in the drain.

Nope wrong again. Most knowledgable NASCAR fans know, the rules were changed after Matt Kenseth won the championship in 2003 after winning ONE race the whole season.
Quote:
"The Matt Kenseth Rule"
The Chase has been referred to as "the Matt Kenseth Rule" as a result of Kenseth's controversial championship in the final Winston Cup in 2003, the year prior to NASCAR adopting the Chase system and Nextel becoming the namesake sponsor. In 2003, Kenseth won the then-Winston Cup series championship despite winning only one race (that being the third race of the year in Las Vegas Motor Speedway) but ending the season with 25 top-ten finishes. In contrast, Ryan Newman won eight races that year (22% of the 36 races run in 2003), but finished sixth in points. In truth, "the Matt Kenseth Rule" more properly refers to the NASCAR numerical scoring system also implemented for the 2004 season, which increased the points awarded to race winners, thus emphasizing winning in addition to consistency. NASCAR acknowledged that the 2003 championship outcome was not the driving factor in establishment of The Chase, as NASCAR had been researching methods to adjust the points system to put more emphasis on winning races since 2000. However, the coincidence of the commencement of the new format in 2004 and Kenseth's 2003 championship linked the issues, and were even referred to by NASCAR officials in the interviews and press releases following the announcement of the new format.

What would Richard Petty have done without Maurice and Dale Inman? What would have Earnhardt done without Childress and Shelmerdine?
Boo hoo. If's and buts, this and that. There's no telling what each team could've done. The chase forces these teams to race a lot differently than they would during a 36 race season. They won the championship fair and square under the system they were given and with people that their teams hired.
I don't like the chase either but they have excelled under this system so more power to them. Whining isn't going to change anything.

LOL, no. For some people you just have to repeat things over and over until they get it.

You are correct!!! Whining won't change a thing. Stop going to and watching races and having nothing to do with NASCAR anymore...that might change things. That is the road NASCAR is on. I would say that Brian France would smarten up, but he has the IQ of a grape.

Chad Knaus is just way brighter than every other crew chief by miles. It is like trying to compete with Goethe.
He needs to be banned.

He needs to be banned from NASCAR because he is smarter than everybody else? Is that the best argument that you can come up with?
I can guarantee you that in 30 years when we all look back on Chad Knaus, we will be able to compare him with the greats like Junior Johnson, Dale Inman and Smokey Yunick. Great minds like this only come around once in a generation.
