What do you think? No agenda, just curious and interested in different perspectives.

Sorry about that! The dangers of posting at work. I didn't know it would create the thread before I was done with the poll choices.

I guess it depends becuase we can still use them if we convert to hydrogen as a fuel source I mean there is lots of water to convert and it only emits steam and condensation out the exhaust and older cars could in theory be converted to run on it and there are no batteries needed. plus it can be fueled like a regular car at a gas station kind like how gas stations have diesel fuel. They could add a pump for hydrogen so the basic infrastructure is already in place plus you do not have to wait at a charge station like you would with an electric car and big heavy batteries would not be needed either.

True; let's consider ICE for purposes of the poll to be our traditional reciprocating, gasoline-powered, 4 stroke engines.

until things change completely, internal combustion engines will be around for at least another 100 years.

As long as there is oil to be drilled, there will be an internal combustion engine. There is a lot of money involved in oil.

Truth - I think socio-economic issues will end it before its usable end would warrant. The ICE is - next to the wheel - the most important invention for transportation and commerce the world has seen.

As long as there are gases and liquids to be burned there will be ICE's.
