My first car was a girl. it was a ford escort with a big booty.

my second car was a saturn also a girl.

my third car was a saturn astra, i called her kiss. (short for kiss my astra, dumb i know)

my audi is a boy for some reason. while i was driving a mustang on loan, that was a girl though, when i touched the car, it felt like a girl.

But when i refer to my audi i'm always saying "him" instead of "her"

whats your car? would you refer to your car in the "her" presence or "him" presence?

IMO, cars are girls, and SUV's and pickups are guys. But my sister considers her car a boy

my car is obviously a girl. I'd picture its human embodiment as the character Joan from Mad Men <3

Well,I don't tell very many people this, but....my car is a girl and her name is Ebony. (I doubt my husband even knows that my car has a name and what it is!)

Ebony was named Ebony quite simply because she is a black car! My first car when I was 16 was Guinevieve. Who knows why! Then I had Old Whitey before I had Ebony. I guess he was a boy and guess what color he was? Other cars in between but I don't think I named them.

...in other news 1 + 1 = 2. i totally didn't make that connection!

i have a friend who calls her car trusty rusty, i bet her and old whitey woulda gotten along and had a grande ole time!

this thread has made me want to name my car, but all i have so far is Dimi, shortened from a nice name for a death metal band i heard once dimmu borgir. i'm not a fan or anything its just a cool name.

Not sure where the name originated from or where but decades ago my late wife called our old Chev PU "Betsy". She would pat the dash and say "nice Betsy...you always start and run real good".
