I recall that Michael Schumacher was "revealed" as The Stig on one show a few years ago ....

That was just a joke, they almost said that outright during the show.

The reason they did have Schumacher as "The Stig" in that episode, is that Ferrari, nor Schumi, will allow anyone else to drive his black FXX.

Yeah, Schumi is not the Stig. I don't think the daily rate of pay would work for him

One of the Stigs has F1 experience and is currently contracted to a manufacturer.

Some of the F1 car testing you have seen on the show the Stig was the F1 teams test driver in the appropriate gear.
