Here are a couple of neat old car chases... RLRL, here is a good way to see how good the "NEW" 1972 Ford Gran Torino 2dr fastback rode... couple of shots really show the suspension working.... at the end of the scene, the car ends up with a bent frame obviously... This was a brand new car...
1972 Gran Torino (and some Pontiac police cars) ALSO notice when it first comes on... it almost hits a new 1972 Fury!!
This one is really neat... the car is a then brand new 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville, identical to mine. Again, you can see the suspension in action, especially within the first 15 seconds.... this car is trashed at the end... Also, the Ventura...you can see how much harsher its suspension is...

A 70s car chase scene is never complete without a car driving through a stack of boxes full of produce. Plus, the reaction shots from the kids that were playing in the street were priceless!!!
One reason I like these older car chase scenes is because it was before they had all these phoney special effects and computer generated things. Back then, it was the real deal. You gotta appreciate a movie where stunt people risk their lives like that.
Amazing they made scenes like that and no one was killed.
Looks like The Seven Ups took their car chase from Bullit....same car sounds, the villan takes time to roll down his window to shoot at the pursuer, etc. Of course you gotta love the overdubbed car sound of the new Ventura...and the constant shifting of the automatic manual. lol Other than that, ok.
I liked the chase scene in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963).
