Well after dating for many years, I proposed this last weekend to my beautiful girlfriend. We took a 3-day weekend trip to Vegas and on Saturday night, I proposed. Had my weekend all planned, we drove up to Vegas from Phoenix on Friday afternoon and arrived about 10 pm. I had made reservations at Wynn Las Vegas but just in a simple guestroom to play off the idea that this trip may be more than just our monthly Vegas trip.
Saturday morning we had breakfast at the Paris at Le Cafe. After breakfast we just roamed around the Strip taking in all the new construction sites or renovations going on. Had a quick lunch at a local burger joint and then decided to try our luck at the tables.
I never like to gamble at huge casino hotels, always feel more comfortable in an intimate atmosphere so for most of my gambling I go downtown to the Nugget. Both of us play blackjack but she'll also take a break from the tables to play the slots...not me! After about 3 hours of blackjack, I was ahead about $300 and decided to call it quits. We headed back to the Wynn to get ready for the evening.
I had made reservations at Alex (signature french restaurant) for 6:30 p.m. and got show tickets for "O" at the Bellagio for 10 p.m.
To make a long story short (well it's already a long story I guess...), right in the middle of our meal, I got down on my knee and proposed to my wonderful, amazing girlfriend (I guess fiancee) ...and she said yes with tears in her eyes.
It was a great moment in both of our lives, I'm a very lucky and happy man.
Great weekend, something neither of us will ever forget.
Truly am blessed, I thank God everyday for what I've been given.
I called my parents last Sunday to tell them the good news and they're thrilled. Told them that I'm also going to get rid of her current POS car and get her something much better. Well sometimes I think my parents love her more than they love me...Dad decided that whatever we pick out he would pick up the tab for. I think the parents are flying down tomorrow to have supper with us so he said make sure to have something bought by then so he can at least see it. Going to go car shopping this afternoon with my fiancee...now that I don't have to pick up the tab, I'm thinking a 2011 Escalade.
We'll see...going to be a busy day and it's not even 8 a.m. yet.
Yuhuuuu....well done mate. Nothing like being comitted to one woman!
And yes, god send that BlackJack. Wifey and I love it, although she takes off in between to try her luck at the slots. Usually comes back with nothing!
Good luck.
Congratulations! new car eh? I was hoping this would take an automotive twist. A toast to a lifetime together. It is an exciting adventure you are about to embark on, enjoy it good times and bad.
