Hi guys,

I have a driver test at the Oakland DMV. I have been driving for the past 10 years but not in US. I am freaking out a bit - so anyone know anything about the DMV and any tricks, please watch out etc for me? Also do they test officers ask for any questions before we start the test?

Thanks,

Just listen and buckle up, use turn signals. No tricks involved.

If you've been driving for 10 years, i dont think you'll have much issue. Make sure you follow the CA vehicle code, and use your common sense.

Says it all does it ?
Study the guide, and if you lack common sense, you should not be on the road!

Important is that the examiner *sees* you looking in the rear view mirror, once and a while. Make sure you look back (over your shoulder), when changing lanes, or making a turn.
Take a deep breath and relax !!!
The examiner will tell you where he wants you to go and what he wants you to do.

You CAN do it !!!

Thanks a lot.
Is it true they may ask for the hand signals or other things or ask about demisters etc before they get you in the car?

Be confident that you know 99% of the CA driving manual before you show up to take the road test.
