I would say either the MacLaren street car, the Ferrari Enzo, or maybe the Veyron.

You didn't state a budget and you know how engineers like us go nuts if they think they have unlimited funds available.

Of the cars in your list, only the A8 does much for me.

The poll is very inconsistent: For MB you have the S550 which is the entry level S-class (ignoring for the moment the newly introduced S400 hybrid) while you have the BMW 760Li which is the top of the range model (if you're ignoring the Alpina B7). Audi A8 means little until you identify it as the 4.2 or W12. The Infiniti Q45 disappeared long ago.

Why the Acura RL, DTS, Town Car, etc. are being bucketed together with the aforementioned 3 German cars is baffling; they don't compete in price or however how you try to slice it. Just because the RL or DTS are their respective automaker's highest priced or largest sedan offerings does not make them flagship luxury cars. OTOH you ignore pricier "flagship" luxury cars such as the Panamera, Quattroporte, etc. not to mention the AM Rapide and everything from RR, Maybach and Bentley.

Mainstream luxury automakers neither Rolls Royce, Bentley, or Maybach are mainstream in any sense of the word.

The DTS and RL are the flagship luxury vehicles of Cadillac and Acura, if they aren't then what are?

The basic difference between the S550 and the S600 is the size of the engine.

I'm strictly speaking mainstream luxury automakers...would you agree that each automaker on the list is mainstream? If so thats the premise I'm going off of. I'd hardly call a Maserati a mainstream manufacturer.

Agreed that Rolls Royce, Bentley, etc. are not to be included, but Jaguar is definitely a mainstream automaker, and the new XJ is a worthy car to be on this poll.
