Ok whatever. I guess they also didn't come radio and heater delete, they also didn't come with a 427 under the hood, they also weren't specifically built for the drag strip and Ford never lost any money building them.

LOL well since you just believed everything I said was true that tells me you really aren't as spun up on them as you might think. So with that I'm done. I'm not going to bother arguing with someone who doesn't know.

what are you talking about? All I said was that they did not come with slicks as they left the factory.. Whats the big deal? Its a fact.. Don't get mad just because you did not know.. Just learn to believe others who may know more then yourself.. I admit when I am wrong.. Grow up...

Yeah thats true. I understand why IIHS crashed an old car, but I wish they would have crashed a couple of more to see if that was the norm for cars of the era. You cant say all cars would perform that way simply because the 59 Chevy did. Thats like some 2000 cars did good, some did bad. .... and I still think alot of it had to do with the frame design of the 59 Chevy. Its ironic they picked one of the few cars with the "x-frame" back then. The 1959 Oldsmobile and Buick did NOT have that type of frame.... it would have been interesting to have seen one of those tested in comparison. Though the 59 GM cars had the same basic body style, back then they did all have different frames.

Here is a 1959 Oldsmobile frame.... looks much like the Chevy frame, but has outer girders....

and the 59 Buick frame, called the K-frame...

and a 1959 Chevy frame...

back then they boasted about it and called it a "safety-girder" frame, but apparently it was not that grand.

I do hope you realize that the new Malibu has NO frame.. How do you explain that? Lighter car, no frame, smaller and yet does many times better in crash tests?
