Yep...I would have taken either one of them...the Charger or the Mustang. Both were brand new cars donated by Ford and Dodge back then. Only one of the two Mustangs used made it out alive. They also used 2 Chargers; both of them were totaled.
And no use of computer generated graphics but there are some goofs in the chase scene....the Charger hits the camera, then it loses 6 hub caps, then it and the Mustang pass the same Firebird and Volkswagen more than once....if you watch closely on the gas station explosion scene, you can see the Charger coming out the other side not on fire. Of interest, those cars did reach speeds of 115 mph around San Fransisco. Still a great movie.
