I see these SUV'S a lot and I think they are rather "sexy" looking..

I'm nowhere near in the market to afford one, and probably will never be.

I just love how they look, when I see people driving them I wonder..

A) How much do they make a year? (Even though the base model isn't that expensive)
B) Does it drive like the "typical" Porsche car?

What do you think of them?

If you don't like them, what are some other sport luxury SUV's you recommend?

I don't think ANY SUV is sexy looking. I'd take a sports car made by Mazda over a truck made by Porsche.

I think the first generation is ugly as hell but the second generation looks decent.

No it doesn't drive like a 911 at all. It's about the same as say a Q5 or X3, but remember it's a lifted behemoth compared to a compact coupe, so you're never going to want to take any curve at 70mph. They're very common out here in Socal... so much so that it looks rather sedate & ordinary. I gotta say though that the interior is the best in its class, worlds apart from the craptastic Range Rover.

Most ppl lease cars over $50k out here, so we're talking about payments of say $850~950/month + tax. Some companies & firms subsidize leases as incentives for partners or top managers.

I hate to say but the whole SUV segments seems to be dying a slow death here. The most popular new luxury vehicle has to got to be the Panamera, a fastback/hatch sedan. I hardly see any brand new Escalades or X5's with paper plates anymore.

I need more money to overcome my sense when it comes to Cayenne.

I like it in a behemoth ultra over-the-top cruiser kinda thing.

I thought the Panamera was the ugliest thing when it was first released but its actually growing on me. I saw one again earlier today and it's honestly got quite a bit of road presence.

I wouldn't mind one but if I were in the market for a Porsche family hauler I'd go for the Panamera.

If you want a fast SUV on a budget, Jeep SRT8 it is. Stock with 420hp and sub 5 seconds 0-60mph. A slightly used 2010 can be had for under $40k. Cheapest are 2006's for around $25k (keep value well).

Wait for the redesigned 2012 with ~470HP to be released in the next 6 months. It will be the best bang for the buck under $50k super duper SUV. The interior will be much improved, the exterior has yet to be revealed.
