And since you said about TC's that are just another Crown Victorias then what do you say about Lexus cars that are just Toyotas?

the ES, I agree, is little more than a rebodied Camry with higher-quality materials, like the Town Car is to the Crown Vic, but all other vehicles in the Lexus lineup are completely different than what's sold in the Toyota dealerships. Aside from the Land Cruiser, yes, but that's already a $60k+ vehicle anyways.
The Town Car does have lots of room in the back, but that dash design is inexcusable for a $46k car. (and based on hired cars I've ridden, so are the materials)

Hyundai Genesis and Equus is not the same size as the TC;
TC Lenght;
1998–2002 SWB: 215.3 in (5469 mm)
2003–present SWB: 215.4 in (5471 mm)
1999–2002 LWB: 221.3 in (5621 mm)
2003–present LWB: 221.4 in (5624 mm)
Width; 1998–2002: 78.2 in (1986 mm)
2003–present: 78.5 in (1994 mm)
Hyundai Genesis;
Lenght
195.9 in (4975.9 mm)Width74.4 in (1889.8 mm)
And the New Equus;
Length5,160 mm (203.1 in)
(limo: 5,460 mm (215.0 in)) Width1,900 mm (74.8 in)
As you can see the Genesis and Equus are NOT true large sedans.
And besides some people don't want to sit "on" a car they want to sit "in" and that's what the TCs are for and meant to be.

the Genesis already has as much interior volume as the Town Car - 109 ft³. Interior volume for the Equus hasn't been published yet, but it's obviously going to be more than that. All the exterior length in the world means nothing if it doesn't translate accordingly to interior spaciousness.

As much as I love Town Cars, they just don't cut it anymore. There is no edge to their styling, and the interior is bland. By what I have read and heard, that soft, super silky smooth ride is a think of the past. If people can't even have that glass-smooth ride quality, then what good is it?

If that's the case then why TCs are still in popular in the Limo Fleet?

1. it's easier to stretch a body-on-frame car (rather than a unibody car) into a limo, which then gives the sought-after glassy-smooth ride.
2. lower operating costs.

You do make a good point; however, I am talking more about someone who is in the market for an expensive luxury car may not even consider the TC when the automotive marketplace has so much more to offer.

My aunt had a 1984 Lincoln Continental Givency Edition that would cause people to ogle and stare everywhere she went. I remember riding in that car and feeling so priviledged to be sitting in all that luxury. I will never forget she even raced a Fleetwood Brougham which was being driven by another 60 something year old. Needless to say the Conti was much faster than the Caddy.
Sadly ennough the car started sagging, the suspension got noisy and the car left her staranded a few times. Eventually she got an Acura.

I don't know the exact figure, but the Town Car L-series has about 120 cu ft. And the Town Car, of course, a bigger luggage compartment.
