My check engine light came on with a code of P143C. The vehicle is a 2007 BMW 328I and i cannot find any info on this code. My scanner cant even tell me anything. Anyone delt with this before?
Are you sure that is a "C" and not an "0" or something else?
x2.
Could be:
P1432 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected
P1438 Purge Control Valve Control Open Circuit
P1439 Purge Control Valve Control Circuit Signal Low

Hey ... is this a obd2 scanner or a bmw factory scan tool? I'm from the Audi/VW world, but if that code is factory code, not a generic obd code, you could be searching google wrong.
Some foreign car makers have "special codes" so you will be forced to let only "authorized" technicians service the car. Call BMW and ask them what the code means and be prepared to listen to allot of double talk. If the CEL is not on I wouldnt really worry about it too much, It may be a code that means you need to let the BMW folks replace your air filter or grease the door hinges .

OBD2 Scanners. Searching google wrong? It must be some BMW only code possibly??? Thanks for all the input guys!
if it was a bmw only code it wouldn't come up correctly on an obd2 scan (i dont think). try to get your hands on a bmw factory scan tool, that should give some more insight.
I've had the same experience through the years, with "strange" codes coming up on the scanner.
The Feds mandated a certain number of areas that had to be disclosed to the aftermarket repair community, but they didn't block the manufacturers from having additional codes reserved for their own purposes.
Without having access to the proprietary BMW list of these codes, you have no way on knowing what they are for. You'll need to get the information from a dealer, which means paying them to scan your car. But you may or may not want to do so ... all of the codes that affect emissions compliance are, by law, required to be public information available on your aftermarket scanner.
