I've got several road tests of 340 Dusters. Stock and with 3.91:1 rear axle ratio they would run low 14s. Car & Driver (Feb., 1970) got 14.39 @ 97.2 mph and braking from 80-0 mph in 287 feet.
Car Life (March, 1970) tested a '70 340 Duster with 3.23 gears and got 6.2 sec for 0-60 mph and a 14.72 @ 94.24 mph 1/4 mile.

Your right, I can nearly blow the stock F70s' off the rims. I made my best run on a pair of Mickey Tompson 13.5 inch drag radials. Getting the car stopped was not bad since I run the car at Raceway Park in Old Bridge NJ. They have a long runout so it's basically stand on it through the traps and just lift. Wait a couple of seconds and "LIGHTLY" apply brakes.

Rapture: That's an awsome SS. I remember when my brother-in-law had one almost identical, except it was a hard top. The day he brought it, he drove into the neighborhood half the neighborhood was standing around the car in awe.
Do you own this particular car? If so, are you going to sell or hold on to it?

I've always loved red 65 Ford Mustang convertibles.
