Cool find, similar to my dad's 1st car which he still has, a 40 Plymouth coupe with 52k original bought from original owner.

I recall the knob on the steering wheel being referred to a "Brodie Knob". I had one on a non power steering car.... 41 Ford 2Dr sedan after getting married in 1954. It helped in steering when shifting the stick 3Spd tranny. Real old accessary item.

We called it a "cowboy knob" ... they were also used on bicycle handlebars.
