I am so activated this morning. Here in Baltimore, we've received about a foot of snow in the past 16 hours. I see a lot of cars driving and tossing neglected snow bricks off of their roofs, especially SUVs. And they drive on unsuspectingly. I swear if I catch anyone with literal panels of snow flying from their car I'm going to flip out on them. It's so irresponsible, and there's no excuse!

One of my pet winter driving peeves! Seriously, it takes sixty seconds to sweep the snow off your car, do it while it warms up.

Also: clear the snow off your tail lights. When the roads and weather conditions are bad, the last thing anyone behind you needs is difficulty seeing your brake or turn signal lights muffled behind three inches of snow.

Thats true too! I took time at 5:30 this morning to clear my car entirely before coming to work. I can't believe people literally clear off the windows only and then drive their igloo down the street like its no big deal.

Couldn't care any less. I open my tailgate so the snow will clear out while driving.

Fun part is when you see the occasional greenhorn trucker who hasn't shoveled the snow off his rig.

...I've never seen anyone of them do that more than once.

I've never had a problem with snow on cars or even rigs. How about giving the car ahead a little more room if the conditions are poor?

I always give cars plenty of room in this kind of weather. However, still not an excuse for someone else being lazy.

I've lived in a couple of small ski towns in the Rockeys and it was kind of a status symbol to have copious amounts of naturally fallen snow on the roof of your vehicle. These folks rarely left town.

That being said.

"Comon... stop whining and keep your distance. "

Most states have laws requiting that "ALL" vehicles clear the roof of ice and snow before any vehicle or trailer is driven on any public roadway.

It doesn't only slide forward, it can slide sideways into oncoming traffic, especially on rigs, this can be incredibly dangerous, and it takes a couple of lives a year in Norway.
