Just did a set of steel Bilco doors with a roller and it looked as good as it was goign to get if I sprayed it but I'm not an automotive paint sprayer. I was using rustoleum. I was honestly surprised how good it looked, if it were buffed it would look great.

I've seen an airplane painted with a marine paint intended for roller application and the finish was quite good.
