Does this trans. repair outfit do good road test diagnosis, and subsequent repairs? Never taken my rigs there for servicing the trans. at all.........never had to

Thanks,

I always was told they over play. Take a car in for exhaust leak and they cut off the exhaust at the manifold and tell you it was unsafe. Best to find a shop you can trust.

Most trans shops don't even fix the actual problems anymore they just swap them out. They will do just as sh*tty a job as the next place.

Last time I had needed a new transmission I called everyone, they made quotes on rebuilding mine. Most included a 3 month warranty. I finally called the Ford dealer, they beat everyones price with a brand new transmission with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.

I avoid franchises....for transmissions or anything else.

A competent business doesn't need to pay franchise fees for "national advertising" , etc. (that must be pssed on to the customer).

Do good work at a reasonable price and customers will beat a path to your door.

Quality varies from shop to shop. There are a couple of Aamco shops in this area . A good friend works at one and I know they do very good work. The shop accross town does horrible work. Not surprising the shop that does good work is always busy while the other has been on the verge of closing off and one for a couple of years now.
