I even saw a 1995 for $40k although with 38k miles (for sale in Oregon).
Here are some 456's in the $50k's as well: Ferrari 456 for Sale - duPontREGISTRY.com
There's a 456 for sale in California for $56k: 1997 Ferrari 456GTA, Gray/Tan, 16K miles, V12, 440HP, Excellent! (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/2374073502.html - broken link)
They definitely aren't cars for anyone looking for a low maintenance car but if finances permit they make great weekend cars (or every other weekend cars lol).
Do not buy a Ferrari unless you want to spend a ton of money on replacement parts.
A friend got a good deal on a low end 308 GT and when he needed a new muffler it was $3,000 but the shop had a good deal on a used muffler for $1,200.
He sold the car shortly after with a patched up muffler.
how about a used Cayman S? If you're addicted to torque it's probably not a good choice but if you like the engagement & tossibility of a track car it really can't be beat.
Great choice! The Cayman is probably my favorite Porsche that isn't a wide body 911 (which would be my favorite).
That may have been true with older Lotus's (Loti?) but I wouldn't be surprised if the Elise and Evora are more reliable than any M car (can't go wrong with Toyota drive trains).

I have to say I like the Evora it looks diffrent and looks quite fun to drive on a track and still be comfortable to drive home or cruise on a weekend. Plus the drivetrain being sourced from a toyota means it is easy to find engine parts and maintain.
plus it looks like a blast to drive and will stand out parked next to a corvette or porsche and cost about the same overall.
it is kind of a win all around if I were you speedy I would go see your local loutus dealer and arrange a test drive and see how it compares to your C6 vette and let us know what you think

Exactly what I was going to say. I would consider either a used Z06 (C6) or a used Cayman S. It really all depends on your preference, but I would go test drive some of these cars.
Corvette does it with horsepower and the Cayman is a great balanced car that is incredibly fun to drive. Many say it is better than the 911 even though Porsche keeps it lower by not giving it more power. Plus with the Cayman if you want to spend $10,000 later on there are places that put in a turbo kit.
You already have a sports car. Your talking downgrading to a sporty sedan.
Does not make sense to me.
Just buy a newer ZO6 and be done with it.
I agree completely - you can't fix what ain't broke. If your 05 Vette is paid for, trading it in makes little sense. Sure the new Z06 is faster, but where can you use the difference? I mean even on a track day - are you really *that* good.
For that matter you could get better bang for the buck by selling your 05 outright and moving back a generation to the C5, overshadowed by the C6 they are available for rather low prices and it's arguably more than "good enough".

What some people don't understand is if you buy an F-car, you have not just bought a cool car, you have in fact signed on to become a minor sponsor of Team Ferrari. You support the team when you buy parts, or if you get dealer service done.
Ferrari is a unique manufacturer. Everybody else builds race cars in order to try to sell more street cars. Ferrari builds street cars so they have the money to build and campaign race cars.
I really think Ferrari Corporate should acknowledge this, and provide a paddock parking package to street car owners who attend races, with preferential treatment for those who show up in their street Ferrari. Good advertising and goodwill to the customer.
