Got my car detailed today. Polish and Wax by a professional. 4 Hours later in rained hard, sun came out again and is now raining again.

Did I waste my money?

You may have but it has nothing to do with the weather. I prefer to wax myself because I don't trust anyone else to not miss a lot of spots. It is very easy to cheat and leave much of the car unwaxed and no one would know.
As far as the rain, it makes no difference whatever.

The detailing job is unlikely a waste of money; unless the results only makes your car finish look worse than before.

The rain after a detailing job, yes, that's a waste of effort.

No you did not waste your money. You just got a little taste of "Murphy's Law" but the rain did not wash off the wax job.

And do not use dish wash soap or it will be a waste or go to a drive in car wash. Get some soap that is wax safe.

Thats how my luck goes, when I wash my car, it rains.

As long as you dont drive it on the wet roads, it should not get too dirty.

Not in Texas. If only making it rain were that easy.
