Aren't Chilton and Haynes the same outfit?

My experience is that they go deeply into engine overhaul, but fail to address things like electric seats, which are more of a puzzle to me.

Maybe, but the layout and information varies somewhat.

I have ran into a situation where I have to reference both to get all the information I needed.

I noticed the exact same pictures in both.The jeep forum is my go to now some really smart and helpful members on there and the f150 forum for my truck.

Youtube is far better than most manuals.

We never need to use our Haynes manual

Forget the manual, if you want to know basic auto maintenance and repair, take an evening course at the local Jr college and learn from someone who knows.
You are going to need some background knowledge to know what the manual is telling you. You can't just read a book and work on safety items like brakes, it may be my family you run over.
