the fusion is the replacement for the older taurus, and is quite the reliable car. imo you cant go wrong buying a fusion.

Good cars... I talked a friend into buying a 2010th she loves it. 6spd auto, 4 cylinder, sync... She loves it. I drove it decent fuel mileage and has easily enough pep to get around.

Sent from my autocorrect butchering device.

It's the only Detroit 3 vehicle in the same reliability league with Asian vehicles. It is built in Mexico, so it does not have the build problems and shoddiness of UAW built cars, and it is a Mazda design, so it does not have the inherent weaknesses of Detroit cars. I would buy a Toyota, Honda, or a Hyundai, but the Fusion is not a bad car at all.

It has been just over a year with my Ford fusion V6 and I have absolutely fallen in love with the car.
I still look outside the window at it and feel very happy to be an owner. It has been reliable, extremely fun to drive for a sedan, and the gas mileage despite my heavy foot has hovered in the 18-19 mpg range. That is with about 95% city driving too. Rarely take it out on the highways. SYNC is also fantastic. I love having my cellphone in my pocket and still being able to call out and listen to music via bluetooth. Such a solid, well, built, and enjoyable car to own!

The Ford Fusion is Ford's midsize sedan which shares platforms with the Mazda6 and Lincoln MKZ. didn't care for the razor blade look when it first came out but the styling looks much better. With the Fusion you have a choice between performance (V6) or fuel economy (hybrid).

The Fusion is proving to be a decent car. Much better than most of what is coming out of the big three. If I was going to buy American it would most likely be a Fusion but I'm not that desperate. Far too many better imports out there for the same money.

For the record the Fusion is not a replacement for the Taurus. Ford is building the Taurus again. The Fusion actually took the place of the Contour which was a huge failure.

Which imports do you think are better for the same money?

The competitors, domestic or foreign brands, for the Fusion are probably:

Malibu
Accord
Camry
Altima
Legacy
Passat
Sonata
Optima
