Am thinking of getting rid of the SUV since our days of moving big things are now over, and going with a Hybrid, like the Prius or possibly a Sonata Hybrid, or similar.
BUT - the car will be sitting idle for about 5 months.
Does this pretty much eliminate the hybrid option? I would think there'd be more battery drain than with a regular engine, and 5 mos is probably pushing it for that.

Hybrids have two seperate batteries and electrical systems. One is the standard 12V system run by a regular car battery that also powers all of the accessories. The other is the hybrid system with its own battery that only interacts with itself.

Storing a hybrid for 5 months is really no different than storing any other car for that amount of time. It's not necessarily the best for the life of the hybrid systems battery as they work best in constant use, but it won't really harm it either.
