Is this because crashes are rarely fatal if you never exceed 50 MPH?

Is it because they never exceed 50 MPH or is it just that wimps are overly cautious drivers?

I was just trying to be a wise-cracker, as indicated with a .

But...

Admit it: Sometimes, some obsessive hybrid drivers will operate their cars in a manner that attempts to maximize fuel efficiency, which is perceived by most as slow.

I already know that Al Gore's kid also exceeded 100 MPH in a hybrid. IIRC, he tried it in So. Cal. Therefore, he was not as wise as you.

Depends on the type of crash and extent of it. If you go to rescue sites, you'll find that the car needs to be de-energized in certain circumstances before attempting to cut the car to get a person out.
