Here is a compact little number for you to ponder.

Maybe the Tata Indica? Or its rebadged version, the CityRover?

Yes, it is the late--and unlamented--CityRover.

As a bonus for the weekend, let me post three pictures:
No. 1:
No. 2:
No. 3 (even though it's not a car, I think it's distinctive and interesting enough) :

Photo #1 appears to be a '70s era Dodge Diplomat (or similar Plymouth/Chrysler model), albeit with a differently styled front and rear.
Based on the type of church dome in the background...perhaps something manufactured in Eastern Europe from the old Chrysler body dies after US production ended?
#2 looks like a Honda, but I suppose that is too obvious a guess. Still, it certainly does look like an early Civic...
I believe that #3 may be a Scammel Scarab.

#3 is indeed a Scammel Scarab, used mainly by the British Railways to transport goods in narrow streets.
#1: You are on the right track, but it was not based on the Diplomat, but its predecessor from the '70s. Also, not Eastern Europe (think of a country not usually associated with car manufacturing).
#2: Not a Honda. The badge is a clue if you can make it out.

Since this thread appears to be dying, let me give out the answers for the final two cars:
#1: Monteverdi Sierra. It was based on the Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. Made in Switzerland.
#2: Maruti 800. Based on the Suzuki Alto, it was India's "people's car" (equivalent to the VW Beetle or the Morris Minor). Later versions were named Maruti Alto.

This is more of a "Where's Waldo?" photo.
