We had a 2001 GMC Safari, which is the same as the Astro. It had a CD and a Tape deck. I was in a wreck and we replaced the 2001 GMC for a 2003 Chevy Astro Van. It only had the CD. Maybe the tape deck was an option, I don't know. We never used it.
My 2000 Hyundai Accent came with a tape deck and I could have optioned a 6 disk changer that they would place in the area behind the rear seat.
Our 2011 Honda Accord has a CD and a port to connect another unit, my sons phone comes to mind.

My 1992 Acura Legend had a tape player and 6 Disc CD player in trunk. It was upscale back then
I had a 1998 Cadillac and it had a cassette player in the stereo, then I got a 1999 Cadillac and it had both a cassette player AND a CD player in the stereo. So it seems 1999 was sort of a transition year when the car manufacturers didn't quite want to rule out that their customers might still be using cassettes, but they also realized the new CD's were becoming more popular.
So I think 2000 must have been the year that cassettes were pretty much dead.
Better question......... When was the last time you played a cassette?
A week ago, '99 LTC, Sharper than most ANYTHING on road now. Style much like a big version Jag.. Beautiful Leather Seats, Concert Radio quality w/ Cassette. Played Elvis cassette....sound great.

Don
I have a '98 Suburban with CD/Cassette and I had a 2002 Cadillac SLS with CD/Cassette. I know I've seen 2005 Impalas (the last year of that generation) with CD/Cassette.
A lot of models being sold at the turn of the century could still be had with Cassette and/or CD. When those models reached the end of their cycles and the next re-design came along, most of them did away with the Cassettes then.
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon. It has a cassette and cd player. The cd player no longer works, but it still plays cassettes fine. I had a huge box of them I had not listed to in years so I am using them now. Who would have thought??
I actually cannot remember the last vehicle I had with a cassette drive. I can remember my 2008 was the last vehicle I used a CD in, but when I updated it to an aftermarket Pioneer, I started to use a MicroSD card, and never used the CD.
Not to change the subject....but when will the CD player disappear from vehicles? My last two Silverados ('13/'15) had CD slots but darn if I could say if they work. My '13 could play USB, while my '15 can play USB or SD.
