The Versa, Sentra and Altima are fun cars for what they are, but each has some irritating cheapness about it that keeps me from being enthusiastic.
I owned a '91 Maxima that I loved in many ways, until a failed steering rack and electrical problems at only 55K miles convinced me to trade it in. At the same time I was dating a girl who had a '94 Sentra that was basically too expensive to keep running by 45K. My sister has a Quest that seems to work for her, but the interior reminds me more and more of dollar store plastic with each passing year.
Nissans aren't usually at the top of anyone's list. Especially mine.
I much prefer Subaru over Nissan any day of the week.
maybe NISSAN was too busy with Nissan.com --- Go there and read the lawsuit to understand what I am talking about... I did NOT even look at their offerings when I bought my new Taco....
Subaru has been the 'Rodney Dangerfield' of the auto biz for at least three decades; those who have 'em absolutely love 'em to pieces.
I'm looking forward to at least seeing what the redone Altima looks like.
Well, in the Snowbelt Subarus outnumber Nissans by about 10 to 1. The brand just offers a good value, reliability, functionality, and efficiency for the money. Mine handles NH gravel and dirt roads with ease along with deep snow. I don't go off road so the somewhat lower center of gravity and 4 cylinder engine works great for what I use it for.
as for the cars themselves , IMO , thier not as good as they were twenty years ago when they were as good as toyota
I think Nissans are much better than they were 20 years ago. The early 90's was a dark period for Nissan and I think they flirted with bankruptcy that decade. I had a 1992 Sentra SE-R in college that had appallingly bad build quality. The cars are much better since Carlos Ghosn took over as CEO. The Camry, Accord, and Altima are close enough in quality that which one you choose comes down to personal preference.
The quality of the interior materials has gone up considerably in the last 4-5 years. I actually think the interior in my 2011 Murano is nicer than the interior of a Honda Pilot.
I miss my 2005 350z. One of the best cars I've ever owned. I know many aren't fans of them, but I never had any problems with mine. And when I was stupid and rolled it 3 times, I didn't end up with so much as a scratch. 5 star roll over rating. If I could have found another one I would have. But everyone I checked out had over 110K miles on it and they wanted 20K+. Current 370 is just way out of my price range and I don't care for Nissan's other models. This was my 4th Nissan to own. My first Nissan was a small 94 pickup.

The interiors of new Nissans have definitely improved while the exteriors have not at all (subjective opinion). Also, Nissan used to offer somewhat lower priced fun to drive cars, but now those tend to be Infinitis or the 370Z.
240Z/260Z, early 280Z's, and a few versions of the 300ZX.
JMHO, but stick them a fork, they're done.
Ya, loved the 300ZX when they first came out in 1990. They were ahead of the curve in those days.
