Chevy, heartbeat of my soul. Especially a '63 'vette.

Ford [besides the Mustang and a couple others], fuddy and/or boring.

Between the GM products I have owned (4) compared to the Fords I have owned (5) The fords were in the shop less and never left me or the wife stranded on the side of the road at -30F.

Only GM would put power steering, power brakes and antilock breaks on one system so if a hose breaks you basically loose all normal ability to control the vehicle. Steering goes hard and brakes become ineffective without both feet from a smaller framed person. And its cold as hell outside.

file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/slb/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg (broken link)Ford,
Ford! My dog is named Ford as well. I have a passion for the Mustang that I just haven't found with any other car.

are you serious no way you are getting 630 RWHP out of stock 460 all-orginal from 1984 with all the emissions junk they put on them they had maybe 250hp in stock form you most have some serious mods to get it to make that much power because no stock 460 from ford in the 1980's ever made anything close to that kinda power all-orginal from the factory which you say your truck is.

Hmmm, I'll have to list my cars (will include wife's)
68 Galaxie
75 Mustang (wife)
76 Grand Prix
78 Impala (wife)
79 Grand Prix
84 Cavalier
89 Reliant
95 Taurus Wagon* (wife)
95 Taurus Sedan
95 Taurus Wagon* (wife from her father)
98 Taurus Sedan
02 Taurus Wagon (wife)*
02 Cavalier (replaced 98 Taurus when totalled)
03 F-150*
03 Focus* (replaced 02 Cavalier when totalled)
10 Forester* (wife)
*still in family "fleet"

I guess we've had more Fords, although I swore after the non-starting when below 40 degrees Mustang there would never be another one. My F-150 replacement in a couple years will probably be a Chevy or GMC. They seem to have more equipment for a lower price of a few thousand.

I've been happy with every one of the above vehicles with the exception of the Mustang and the Reliant.

EDIT: forgot the 91 Lumina* (bought from my mother when she went to assisted living, I paid her Blue Book when my brother wanted to put it in her household auction where it would have sold for $200.

Last edited by North Beach Person; 12-24-2009 at 04:44 PM.. Reason: forgot one

LOL yeah and I happen to own some beach front property in Wisconsin somewhere. Sorry but no one's buying your line of b.s....if your engine really dynoed that much power, it's way more than "all original save for the electrical and the basics"...more like the whole engine has been redone using the best off the shelf parts, then dropped into an old truck with 360k on it.

Are you talking new or old school?
Cuz I love old Chevrolet. Chevelle, OLD Camaro, Vega, Nova, Bel Air, OLD Impala. New Chevrolet...I despise. Total lack of styling. Poor quality all around. Lack of personality.
So nowadays I like Ford, hands down. Their styling team runs circles around Chevrolet. The new Camaro is the prime example. Barf! The new Stang, ohhh yeah!
Far as performance, I like how Fords handle and I feel more comfortable in the interior as well. I sat in a new Malibu just for fun and I was sickened, I felt I had to get out quickly. Same with the Camaro, just very unsettling inside compared to the smoother flowing lines in the new Taurus or Mustang.
Ford tends to keep things very stylish, yet simple. GM and Chevrolet tend to overshoot for thrills and it leads to some clustered results. This is my opinion only. Obviously I'm in the minority as Chevrolet has Ford beat right now in the poll
