I like it. I wonder what it will cost and what type of options it will have?
I always liked the Scrambler from back in the day. In the 80's a friend had a Jeep Wagoneer SJ pickup I think it was. He beat that thing to death going off road. I bet he wished he took care of it and had it now, they are pretty rare.
This new Gladiator will certainly be a niche vehicle. Small pickups are popular due to their pricing and if this new Jeep is more than $40,000 it will remain a niche.
This has been one of the most eagerly anticipated new vehicles for several years.
FCA knows what it is doing when it comes to Jeep.
The market isn't exactly crowded with smaller pickups and probably at least 80% of potential buyers will be purchasing this as an image vehicle rather than for its utility anyway.
I'm at the point of welcoming anything that isn't another "styled to be rugged" crossover to the market.
I'm very interested in how well this will sell...Jeep is hot right now. Inspite of some really significant reliability issues found in their line up, they are still able to move cars like crazy.
Jeep has had a variety of pickup trucks dating back to the Willys, Kaiser, AMC, and Chrysler.

AND AMC/Jeep already marketed a Wrangler based pickup truck in the 1980's. Then dumped it.
With Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, all making small trucks. It will be a small market.
Is the market big enough for another small truck entry?
Or is it too little, too late? And way too expensive?
It’s a very different small truck. High towing capacity, serious off-road capability, and the only one that you can pull doors and roofs off of. All the other small trucks are all just similiar copies of each other.
