Both our daily drivers and my classic truck are all on an apartment parking lot right now. When we move to MKE this fall though I hope we'll have underground parking for our cars and my truck will be staying in Phoenix with my Mom.
Car lives in the garage, truck stays in the driveway. Now that I've sold the motorcycle, the waverunner, a ktichen's worth of appliances, 2 grills, and a couple dozen other things, I might be able to fit the truck inside too. But then I'd hardly be able to move around in the garage. So I dunno what I'm going to do.
My car is lucky. It stays in my personal garage at home, and in a parking garage at work. It normally sees about one hour of sunlight a day, when I'm driving it.

Hehe, same here. Although mine sees a little more sunlight than that. About an hour and a half on the road probably on average, and also it gets to see sunlight at the parking garage because it's well above ground and I park usually in a row facing, eh, roughly southwest and there's some gap in the buildings there for a plaza.
So happy the house I ended up with has a 2-car garage. Since we downsized to one car, I have room for crap on one side and the car on the other, best of both worlds. So my theory of garage is to have one more bay than the number of cars, if possible. Obviously in some of the scenarios listed this would just not be reasonably possible (i.e. seven vehicles).
My 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and her 2010 Ford Escape occupy our garage, the escape is her daily driver and the G8 is my weekend DD and sometimes after work DD. My 95 Saturn SL1 sits outside in the driveway, it is my weekday to/from work DD (I drive 1 mile each way to the Park N Ride). The G8 becomes my DD in the winter because I am too lazy/usually run too late to scrape the snow/ice/frost off of the Saturn outside.
Does the G8 do well in the snow and ice? It seems like it would be terrible.
4000lbs with perfect 50/50 weight distribution stock and snow tires make it a very capable winter car. Rear end was very controllable whenever it did step out (rare). Factory remote start and heated seats make it even better
