10 Fastest cars under $50,000 - Yahoo! Autos

I thought this was intresting to read.

The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S can churn out nearly 400 horsepower, but it’ll set you back close to $100,000. Want to feel just as much power for half the money? Buy a Ford Shelby GT500.

I was just reading this. Seems like the Infiniti would be the best luxury/sport option by far and one of the cheaper ones as well.

Purely on price vs. power it seems the Camaro would be tops at 35K and #5 on the list.

Best combo of power and function would be the Charger with 4 doors and lots of power.

Not to sure function comes to mind when you want this kind of speed.

Well, it helped with my decision to get a Challenger. A backseat you can actually fit a grown human in and a trunk that will hold some stuff made the decision easier. But yes, function certainly was the FIRST thing on my list.

The article isn't totally accurate. The limited production 2012 BMW 1 M-series listed at under $50K, with a PTW ratio of ~9.

first of all the new GT500 has 650(or 550 this year) hp. 150 to 250 MORE then the $100k 400 hp Porsche.

And NOTE the number ONE and TWO vehicles? MUSTANGS.

actually the Mustang GT would be tops on the list at 420 hp and 300+ lbs lighter then the SS Camaro and a base price of $30k.. It not on the list but it would have been number 3 if it was..
