Yeah that stuff doesn't have a chance with what people are legally allowed to walk around with here in the USA. It would be nice though to have windows that robbers couldn't just smash and grab.
National Geographic - Armored Vehicles by Alpine Armoring - YouTube
This is how they are really m,ade and they are not kits but custom built to the customers specs and they are notn cheap and It makes sense to operate over in Afghanistan or Iraq but not really used in the U.S. and Canada as the factory model Suburban or Yukon are fine on our roads.. I hope..
I have a decent amount of experience with bullet resistant "glass" and road vehicles that have been "uparmored".
"Bullet proof" is the wrong set of words. Bullet resistant is more like it.
With "glass" like that, it will take a few random hits, but if you keyhole rounds in the same spot you'll get penetration through the glass.
The other thing you have to watch for is correct engineering to fit the certain vehicle, proper installation of the products and quality control of the products. There is a wide variance out there in what is produced. I guess if all you can afford is $12000, cool, but just don't think you are bullet proof superman.
