Just wondering, what year? I have the exact complaint with my 01 LX.

Honda certainly needs to do something though and the new Accord needs to be a homerun. Honda sales took a big hit in 2010 before leveling off in 2011, but they are now sliding again and will need their new products to be a success, because the CRV alone isn't going to carry them.
I'd modify that "home run" to a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. The Accord from 08-12 has been THAT bad.
Anyone know what's up with the slide? Camry is doing very well, now 2nd overall. The Nissan Altima has taken the Accord's usual sales rank just behind the Camry.
Because it's boring. In the car world it's become the 43-year-old, slightly pudgy government clerk with the combover who still lives at home with his mother. Heck, we test drove one last summer and it wasn't even a comfortable ride.

Same issue here with the 07 LX 4 cyl. It's comfy and stable up to the point when you past 65, then you hear more of that noise, plus your fuel mileage drops. Not refined at all but this isn't geared towards luxury buyers, even though I would much prefer a car that is a better highway cruiser.
The older Accords had a nice looking exterior. Not so the new ones. The same can be said for the CRV, and I imagine that the same people screwed the outer looks of both.
The current Accord is nearing the end of it's life cycle and is behind in terms of styling and technology. For years the Accord was the better FWD midsize car, other manufacturers caught on.
On another note used Accord sales are doing very well. I sold my wifes 97 last month for $700 above book and sold my 98 this morning for $900 above book. Very high demand, both times the phone was ringing off the hook and I put interested buyers into a bidding war with eachother.

I have never been a fan of the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry for that matter, although the 2012 Camrys are very nice cars
Im also happy to see that the Nissan Altima has come up in rankings to where it is at. I own a 2003 Altima 2.5 S which I have been driving for over 3 years now and at 114,000 miles its running and driving like brand new. Its a wonderful car that is eye catching for sure
Their CEO was quoted as saying that it wsn't appropriate for the marketplace; it's categorized as a full-size automobile, so the new edition will undoubtedly be smaller, and the 4-cylinder engine will remain standard, since some 84% of the Accords (and similar percentages for the Camry & Altima) sold in the US are 4-cylinder automatics, according to Automotive News.
Between the Sonata, Passat, (kbb.com ranked it #1 among passenger sedans) & the Camry, Honda has some really serious competition in the family sedan segment.
