Anyone know what's up with the slide? Camry is doing very well, now 2nd overall. The Nissan Altima has taken the Accord's usual sales rank just behind the Camry.
The 2013 Accord Coupe is hot. The 4 door, boring!
I went to the NY auto show. The 2013 Altima, BORING! They had the 2013 Accord coupe in the "concept" car. I specifically went there to see the new 2013 Accord Coupe. All to find out it was a "concept" model. Why would they do that? Everyone else had the actual 2013 cars there.
They did say it was 80-90% of what the car would look like. Google it: its RED

Wonder why they don't have an AWD model (other than the Crosstour), same with Camry. You would think it would appeal to the people above the frost line. Only a handful of AWD sedans that can be had for $30k or less (Accord Crosstour, Fusion, Legacy, Charger, Taurus, Kizashi).

When people complain the current Accord is slow, and a '94 Accord was sporty and fast, do they mean in comparison to other contemporary cars, or it it that a 2012 Accord is actually slower than one from the '90s?

Not 100% sure, but here are some guesses...
The Accord is already one of, if not the most expensive car in its class when comparing totally optioned models. AWD would seal that deal as the Honda system is rather pricey.
The Accord V6's performance is pretty darn close to that of the Acura TL as is and both cars offer almost all the same features. This is one of the biggest debates on the Acura forum, should I pay an extra $10k for a TL or just pocket it and get an Accord that's really barely a downgrade? If the Accord had AWD, it may bastardize TL sales even further.

I would hope they are comparing it to the other cars of the time. A 2012 Accord would smoke a '94 Accord, even though it weighs around 400 pounds more. The older Accords were physically smaller, lighter and way more tossable as well as being plenty powerful for the time. It was unique whereas the current model is far more mainstream.

Yea, the 94 was slower in specs, but I think overall the 2012 handles way worse, and it feels less peppy than the 94. I am comparing the 4 cyl 2012 version vs. the 4 cyl 94 accord version. The difference is only about 30hp but the weight difference is also pretty significant.
Also, DOHC vs. SOHC in the 94. Point is, the 2012 accord sucked. My friend bought one and I was like.
I don't think I like the looks of this coupe too much, and the sedan is bland. We have an 09 Accord, and I think reliability is all they have left. Too expensive for what you get. This will be our last, and we are dumping it early.
