It looks like the put an Altima's body in the dryer for too long and then dropped it on the Sentra platform, lol. Of course, pretty much every automaker is taking the "family look" to the extreme these days.

Not much info on the specs, but I would imagine the ubiquitous 1.8 w/ CVT is what we'll get. I'd really love to see a real attempt at a Sentra-R again, the past model was rather blah and most manufacturers seem to be hopping on the hothatch/sporty compact program.

It's a huge improvement on the existing model which was never attractive.

What? Nissan taking cues from Lexus with the pinched grille or did they take it from the Infiniti Essence concept?

I think it looks a bit more upscale than the current "Humpty Dumpty" Sentra. They really need to step up as far as fuel economy on the base engine models, interior style/quality, and all around balanced performance on it's performance model. It doesn't need to have gobs of acceleration but it does need to balance handling and acceleration while still providing decent MPG numbers in order to compete in this segment today. They are way behind their competitors including Kia, Ford, and Chevrolet.

Looks good for a low end model--no matter whose designs they copied.

But if it has a CVT transmission that is a negative.

I like the old one better. I don't like these six-window sides very much. My favorite Sentra was the original from '82. I almost bought one for my first car.

There was an ad for altima right next to the pic of the sentra and so I can say from comparing the two they look nearly identical. The grill looks inverted and the headlights are a little different and that little window in the corner of the rear door. but aside from that it looks the same. I think it's a great looking car. It doesn't look like an econo box anymore, it looks like something that someone would actually want to drive.
