The only time my rear tires are the same depth as the fronts is if I bought them as a set, and they're still less than a month old.
11/32 is full depth for a light truck tire. AFAIK, the only reason the rears can wear significantly more than the fronts is wheel spin.
EDIT-I just saw that your rears are down 2/32 in 500 miles. IF they were indeed purchased new as a set 500 miles ago, that is definitely a problem. Maybe your rears weren't new.

I will take back to Goodyear and ask them.

My initial thought was "WHY WOULD ANYONE BRING THEIR CAR TO WALMART FOR ANY TYPE OF AUTO REPAIR', but I'll leave that alone. I'm thinking that you just may get a completely different story when you get to Goodyear compared to the one you got from "WALMART", I think your brother may be on to something.

Wear tabs are 2/32", but I agree that would be an amazing coincidence (besides being done improperly) to have hit the wear tabs on both rear tires when measuring tread depth. I didn't get the impression that you were frying the tires but unless something is completely out of whack I can't think of another reason for the rear tires to wear that much faster than the fronts. See what Goodyear says. It's something they need to address.
First, the unofficial rule of thumb says that you will go through two sets of rear tires, to each set of fronts.
Second, 2/32's in 500 miles seems rather alot of wear.
You might want to get the alignment checked.
At the current rate of wear, you will be down to the wear bars in something around 1500-2000 miles.
Whose rule is that? Rotating the tires would solve that issue.
I've had several vehicles on which 4 tires wore from new to to done, all tires within 2/32", and I drive fairly aggressively. 3 sets on my Mark VIII, 3 sets on my Ranger pickup, 2 sets on my Spirit R/T...The only recent car I've owned where the tires didn't wear evenly is my GTO, with staggered sizes. I have a good idea why that keeps happening.
Take it by an indy shop if you have one convenient and ask them to measure the tread depth for you; or better yet, buy a gauge and do it yourself. If they/you come up with the same reading as WallyWorld, then take that back to Goodyear and ask them WTF?
That is why you rotate tires. The drive tires always wear faster than the non drive tires.
Not after 500 miles.
If I had to venture a guess, the tires were returned under someone else tire guarantee and resold to you as new (something Sears has been heard of doing). Did you actually see the tires put they put them on and notice if the threads were still painted and still had stickers? Also check all the tires for date codes.
