72 Datsun pickup, one of the few cars I bought new. They didn't have the technology back then and 4 cylinders must have had about 80 HP. Coming of V8 cars all my life and a 390 Ranchero before that I quickly grew to hate the gutless thing.
I rode my motorcycle a lot then so it sat and then crank starting became a waste of time. I lived on a hill and coast started it for the 1st time after sitting. Then it would start, a lot of carburetor trouble
I hate to dis it, because it was my first car. But a 1982 Dodge Aries K car. (We found a metallic emblem somewhere that said "coupe" and jokingly added that to the emblem on the back of this POS car).......lol
Crazy bad car. I used to say it had a poltergeist, with all the bizarre things it would do.
I'm a Ford guy, and in 1986 I bought a brand new Mercury Cougar. Bright red, beautiful car. It had the 3.8 engine in it.
At 20,000 miles, the engine fried. This was after a laundry list of other problems that had me on the phone to Ford customer service so many times I knew the guy on a first name basis.
At 50,200 miles, I was driving on the interstate and heard an explosion. Turns out that big weight they put on the transmission to dampen out vibrations broke off and blew a hole in my fuel tank. Ford had a factory recall on that (one that I never heard about) and it went through 50,000 miles. My car was 200 miles over, so they wiggled out of covering it.
During one phone conversation with my guy at Ford customer service, he pulled up my build sheet, and said "Oh, this might be your problem. Your car has the Mexican engine and the Canadian body !" I told him I thought I had bought an American car, and he said "Where are you from, NOTHING is made here any more !"

That was the last brand new car I ever bought.
I solved my bad Ford problem by never buying another Ford. I still buy brand new vehicles, just not Ford.
My 2015 5.0 Gt needed a whole new AC under warranty. Now it looks like my 2013 C6 Vette has the gas tank leak and THE whole car has to be taken apart to get at the tanks. So i may trade it in. The newer C7's are even worse with the A8 trans and T/C problems. I would never buy a C7. Maybe i will go back to a newer GT 5.0, but they sure don't have the power i am used to.
Funny that some have that many issues. I've owned countless Thunderbirds, Rangers, F150s, Mustangs, Expeditions, etc... I've never had any issues with them and most went well over 200k miles. Not saying that people don't have problems with them but it's always intrigued me how folks can have such differing experiences.
My ‘88 Mazda 626. The Ford 4EAT transmission liked to slip at really inopportune times like when you’ve just pulled out into an intersection. But that’s really been the worst of it most of my cars have been pretty trouble free.
