I once bought a 78 Dodge Charger with a Mitsubshi 2.6 liter engine in it. The guy was asking $200.00 for it but it wouldn't start. He asked me if he put a battery in it & it started would I give him $50.00 for it. I said yes. I drove that car into the ground. I put tires on it later down the road I had a bolt that was missing out of the driveshaft so I pulled it onto a curb ran into a store & put the bolt in it. Never had a problem with the car & I turned around & sold it for $300.00 two years later.

-$100.

The local Chrysler dealer had been trying to sell my dad a K-Car for a year. He knew I was looking for my first car, so when he got an old Dodge Dart in on trade he offered to throw it in at no charge which closed the deal. A year later when I was ready for a nicer vehicle the same dealer gave me $100 for it on a trade.

I've bought several cars for under $100 over the years that I've driven for awhile and sold for what I had in them or a little more.

'62 Ford Fairlane. Paid 25.00 for it. Good engine, junk body. Later, found another body in good shape for 20.00. Swapped good engine into good body one evening after work in a little over an hour and drove it home that night.

Sold junk body for 25.00 so that made 20.00 invested in the car. Drove it for a few months and sold it for 200.00.

$50 Ford Torino GT purchased at an impound auction, for the wheels, I had planned to ditch the rest of it. I did get curious, charged up the battery and it fired right up. Drove that car for a year and sold it for $400.
