Default Why does Sweden have the new Ford Ranger before we do?

I thought Ford was an American company, I guess I am wrong We get the outdated model, while the Swedes get the new one. And of course its a diesel which will probably never make it stateside anyway.

I thought they hated our pick up trucks in Europe anyway. Whats with that?

Ranger

Because we are not getting it. Ford is not bringing the "global" ranger back to America. In Europe, they have had Crew Cab, Diesel Rangers for years, and they never brought it over.

Yeah I belive the Entry level model Truck in Ford's Pick-Up lineup is now only be the F-150

The Ranger died out because a full-size F150 was only about a $1500-$1800 more in price diffrence between The base V6 F-150 and the base V6 Ranger.

I would bet at least a little bit that Ford has carefully analyzed what would happen if they brought that truck here. I think they fear that in addition to taking sales from Toyota, they will take even more sales from themselves (F150). For now they aren't willing to sacrifice the profit in the F150 for unit sales of the Ranger. There may also be problems certifying the diesel here.

But the good news is that such a thing exists in Ford and could be brought here someday.

I wish ford Could "woo" Cummins away from Dodge and offer something like a 4.5 Liter direct injected 4 cylinder I-4 turbo diesel in the F-150 that would be a huge seller and be a massive hit here in North America and a big advantage to Ford in the 1/2 ton PU market segment.

As someone mentioned, they're not releasing the new Ranger here, and to answer your second question: Pick ups are almost exclusively used as work vehicles, especially in the construction industry.

Say what again? And you're from Texas and you think pickups are almost exclusively work vehicles? Maybe I missed the sarcasm. I must have missed the sarcasm. I really hope there was supposed to be sarcasm. I'm scared.

He said: "and to answer your second question . . ." So you need to read what the second question was to understand the answer. The second question had nothing to do with Texas, they were talking about Europe. "I thought they hated our pick up trucks in Europe anyway. Whats with that?" Texas is in the United States it is not part of Europe.
