You are the ignorant one since I am the farthest thing from being racist. Look up the term "ricer", and you will find what it really means. It has very little to do with the origin of your car.

"Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therefore not considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case."

I will add this from the same link:

"
When a moron (see: retard, dumbass) decides to take a car (foreign or domestic) and tries to make it look fast. The car will not really gain any hp or performance"

Urban Dictionary: Ricer

Next, maybe you should put a huge wing on the back of it LOL. Don't worry, I will not come come and respond to you. Have fun with your ricer.

p.s. Thanks to all the reps on my "lipstick on a pig" post. Maybe this guy will eventually realize he drives a ricer sooner or later.

Anyone? Buehler?

If you're a TRUE enthusiast ANYTHING with wheels can be fun to drive really.. You have seen the Nitro Circus guys racing and jumping big wheels haven't you??

A Prius can actually be very responsive handling with slight alignment tweaks and the right tires.. Which can be said of any smallish car...

This is coming from someone that certainly loves and knows real HP... Many days of the week my "company car" is a 550 + HP Cadillac that'll see 150MPH multiples times a day, or a Ferrari Challenge car, a 911 Cup car, a Viper, or some kind of winged formula car... Other days, or weeks it'll be a Prius or Camry etc..
Both are enjoyable in different ways.. I can realize that because I am mature enough not to have too much of ego tied to what I drive day to day. Bottom line I'm not going to do 100MPH + on the street whether in a Ferrari or a Toyota, and I'm not going to push it enough in a corner to trail brake rotate it so much either, so as a responsible adult on the road with thousands of other people something that IS enjoyable to drive and gets 40- 60 MPG very SIMPLY makes sense...

Not being able to have an open mind and try something and see if it CAN be enjoyable as such is usually only because ego. One part ego for wanting others to see you in something "cool" all the time... and another part ego in that most drivers that drive things like M3's, Corvettes etc. THINK they are good drivers, but for the MOST part are so horrible that they wouldn't even KNOW a good handling car if it bit them in the arse... All they know is the "superior" grip of the big wheels and tires on their overpriced, over their head sports or performance car. It's NOT like their performance car handles "so sweet" because they have such an understanding and knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics that they can describe and showcase ALL aspects of those dynamics in an EXTREMELY accurate, repetitive, and high speed manner at all consistently. It's almost always of a case of much more $$$ than talent. And those type of people need to cover up or oven compensate by saying there's "no way" they could enjoy driving "such an appliance".. Everything on the public roads is an appliance... It's only ego or ignorance that stops people from realizing that TRULY the type of "driving experience" that separates an "appliance " or a "performance/sporty car" ONLY happens on a closed course... Thinking otherwise is rather naive...

I believe so far all he did was different wheel and maybe springs. Def no body kit there.. Doesnt seem to qualify as much of a ricer to me..But then again maybe you're the one that spends so much time in real "race cars".. Seems like there's plenty of ignorance to go around..

Please reread his original post which I quoted. He plans to put a body kit on it next. I personally drive a 1991 Ford Escort. It is slow, and you would never see me lowering it, putting performance wheels on it, and then a body kit. It would be a total joke.....enough said.

I know exactly what the term means and it is still a racist comment. Urban dictionary hardly qualifies as proof of anything but now I know what kind of person you are if that's where you get your info. You show your ignorance by not understanding the origin of the term.
Enjoy your old ford escort and the fact that you believe you can't improve on it's handling, performance or looks and have basically given up on it because you live by what other people might think of you. Someone truly into cars makes modifications for reasons other than pleasing random internet jockeys.
Sooooo sad.

Listen, I said I would not respond, but I have to here. If you look at my past posts, you will see I have owned many Japanese cars. I also did the same thing you are doing to your Prius to a 1995 Ford Contour back in 2002. I was laughed at and called a ricer back then. I think the term you are referring to is rice burner which "could" possibly defined as racist, although I do not think so myself. I meant no offense, and all I was trying to say is making a slow car look fast will get negative attention. I hope that clears it up.

I have a six speed V6 with excellent handling... but I find myself enjoying my wife's Nissan with the CVT, very smooth.

I think what it is that when I have the car with the great shifting and handling and whatnot I feel compelled to drive it aggressively, with my wife's car, there is no such compulsion... I just cruise along serene like...

I agree 100%! To me they are a shopping cart (boring, square, lots of room, skinny tires) with an iPad dash.

I would have bought a Jetta Sportwagen TDI for a fun car to mod/drive and still get strong mpg for less than 30K.
