Miscellaneous papers from when I bought the vehicle There's a window envelope that I saw had the title in it, I didn't look inside to see if there was anything else in there. The little ticket from the auction where I bought the van was also in the gloebox along with a ticket for a lawnmower I bought at the same auction. I threw the lawnmower one out.

There should be a flashlight, but I used it recently and I think I remember seeing it rolling around between the seats. It was indeed on the floor but is now back where it belongs.

In a followup post I stated that the oil filter tab with the pertinent information from my last oil change should be in there, probably along with a couple of older ones. It turns out that the only one in there was from the previous oil change.

Mostly receipts but there's also a pair of leather gloves, a piece of plastic with my parking sticker, a pair of round the ear headphones, an adjustable wrench, a Philips head screw driver, my stereo manual, an extra switch, and some fuses.

I wonder how long we're going to call it glove compartment? Because, how many people actually put gloves in there? Heck I've been alive 41 years and don't recall seeing anyone keep gloves in it, but the name persists.

Lessee, mine probably has registration and insurance info, it should have the manual but it's not in there right now, and whatever odds and ends my girlfriend puts in there. Oh and a seat belt cutter and spring-loaded glass punch. (About a decade ago I gave lots of people in my family this pair of tools. Luckily no one has needed them. Now you can buy them in one little tool small enough for your keychain.) The other crap is in the center armrest cubby (flashlight, multi-tool, chargers for electronic stuff, etc.)

The map pocket in my door actually still has maps, how quaint. And a notepad and pen. The maps are all varying degrees of out of date so need to pitch them since I haven't used them in years, and probably move the seat belt cutter and glass punch to that spot where they're more easily accessible (or buy the new small version).

Lets see. I got various plastic cards like grocery discount cards, Sam's Club Card, AAA card and numerous Casino Member Cards. There are napkins for spills a pen, your typical owner's manual and insurance and registration info and plastic glasses from a recent solar eclipse. No gloves.

Well, I just got a new car at the end of May, so I haven't put a lot in the glove box yet. It's got a small pack of Kleenex, my windshield toll transponder, insurance ID card and Sirius/XM channel guide.

I haven't put the owner's manual in it yet because I was reading it. Is it just me or are these owner's manuals getting a lot bigger than they used to be? Mine came in this leather case with like an owner's manual, a supplement to the owner's manual, a warranty book, a quick guide to the owner's manual, tire warranty book, satellite radio booklet, and a booklet on the telematics (like OnStar) system.

I don't allow junk in my glove compartment. I have the manufacturer's manual, vehicle registration and insurance card, and I still have my mom's handicap placard in the glove compartment from when I was taking her to doctor appts, etc. She died in Feb 2011, and every time I open the glove compartment it reminds me of her. Nothing else in my glove compartment. It's very neat. Drawers in my house might be another story, but my car is neat!
