Let's rename the Dodge Charger--choose a name
I think we can all agree that the name "Charger" belongs on a 2 door hardtop muscle car meant for a young person who wants the feel of power and the wind in their hair. So what SHOULD Dodge have called the 4 door sedan in question?

If you're trying to stick with a traditional Dodge nameplate, scratch Fury and GTX; they were both Plymouth models. Also, GTX was never available in any form other than two-door hardtop and convertible, and was only available with a 426 or 440 engine so it was even more of an exclusive muscle car than the Charger (which was available with every engine in the Chrysler lineup including the Slant 6).
Personally the 4-door version of the Charger bothers me a lot less than the rebadged Omni 024 version from the '80s bothers me.

My brother hd a 68 or 69 Sport Fury. I have never seen so much chrome on a car, except in a museum.

I know what you mean. I own a '66 Fury VIP and it has plenty of chrome, which I like.
