lol, yeah and to think I had about 4 family members "squabbling" over the car (over who should get the car) when my grandpa passed away.
There was a will, but one family member thought it should have been theirs since it was offered before and didn't take it at the time. Grandpa left it to three of his kids (all of his estate). My mom and her sister sold their share of the Gremlin to my uncle. lol. There were actually a lot of people wanting this car, grandpa had it sold for $4000 once, then decided to keep it. I guess they are actually desirable cars by AMC fans, plus this was an unusually high optioned car... it had A/C, FM radio... pretty much everything that was available on those. lol.
I drove it a few times, but not by choice.
Now the '55 Cadillac I would have loved to have owned, but my grandpa had already give it to one of his sons.
I think I would take a '55 Cadillac over a Grimlin (Gremlin).
Here are just a few of my previous and some of my family previous classics... some of these pics were taken years ago...
This is my uncles car... 1966 Oldsmobile F85 Deluxe wagon... (still owns this car)
It wasn't a classic then, but would be now... my grandmothers 1973 Cadillac Eldorado. This pic was taken in 1981. She owned this car from about 1978-1984. Someone put bolts down the carburetor and ruined it... the car was crushed in 1984.
My uncles 1959 Pontiac Safari wagon...
My grandpas 1976 AMC Gremlin X - 53K actual miles. Now my uncles car.
My old 1972 Buick Electra 225 Custom...
My old 1969 Pontiac Executive Safari wagon...
Grandpas old 1955 Cadillac (now my uncles)...
My dads old 1969 Camaro - sold to a guy in Pennsylvania for $13K about 4 years ago...
Grandpas old 1955 Buick Special...
The 59 Pontiac wagon still around? All are neat rides! The gremlin? A great little 8 second dragcar in the right hands.....
Orange air cleaner lid, orange valve covers, Monte Carlo script on the air box, fan shroud, looks like you deleted the a/c and went non a/c....
Very good! You are missing at least three, though...
Yes, I did pull the AC. It hadn't worked since around 1986. I decided to stop hauling it around. As a plus, the engine compartment looks a lot more tidy without it.

I did the same thing with my former '66 Dodge Dart GT V-8... took out the A/C. It was working but back then, I did almost everything I could to increase the power. The A/C compressor weighed about 80 lbs.
And, yes, the engine compartment did look less cluttered without it... and easier to work on the engine.
