I don't know if I would put 2011+ GT's into the best bang for the buck in the under $50k category... you are well into corvette territory there.

I don't believe you can get a brand new Corvette for under $50k. If so, then that's one hell of a deal as the Corvette is quite a bit better than the GT from a performance perspective. I'd be wary of buying a current gen C6 though as they are getting a bit long in the tooth and the C7's are coming out soon.

How about under $40k category then?

My buddy with his 2011 GT automatic was turning 10.4's all day yesterday at the track with just a blower/tune/alum driveshaft and good driving. Stock motor/trans/converter/exhaust.. Sick cars

Corvettes for Sale | Kerbeck Corvette New 2012 Corvette Inventory | Corvette Grand Sport, Coupe, Convertible, Z06 and ZR1

You very well can get a brand new 1LT coupe for under 40k from Kerbeck. Friend of mine bought one from them for 37 and some change out the door.

The C6's were improved upon every year, looking at my 08 vs a friends dads 05, there are a ton of small improvements and the newer model years improve even more.

I paid 31k for my used 08 3LT Coupe with 29k on the clock, worth every penny and more.

Buying used will get you a deal but can't be directly compared to new GT's as you can probably pick up a used GT for under $20k in a few years as they are new for 2011.

Or this one with $14k miles for $20k?
Ford : Mustang 2dr Cpe GT P in Ford | eBay Motors

Then for a total of $30k you can too have a mid 10 second street screamer that will take care of ANY exotic you come up against.
